Hardware Storage
One interesting way to reuse your old detergent bottles is by storing small hardware items such as nails, screws, hinges, etc. Simply remove the lid, fill with the hardware of choice and label it to make it easy to find. Be sure to replace the lid so that water and moisture can’t rust the hardware! 

Watering Can
If you don’t have a watering can on hand or could benefit from an additional water can, your old plastic detergent jug can be of assistance. All you need to do is drill 10-15 small holes in the lid. After that, fill up your new watering can, replace the lid, and give your plants their drink for the day! 

Pet Food Scoop
Because of the sturdy handle of plastic detergent jugs, they make a wonderful food scoop for your furry friend. All you need to do is cut the top of the jug down to the beginning of the handle using a sharp knife and now you have a convenient scoop! 

Paint Storage
Are you tired of having messy wet paint running down the paint cans from the store? Well, if you have an empty plastic detergent jug, simply pour the leftover paint inside and cover with the lid. Now you have an easy, mess-free way to pour paint for all of your fun projects! 

Beach Bucket
With summer quickly approaching, you may be wondering if you need to go to the store and buy buckets for the beach for your kids. However, most of those are still made of plastic and can run a bit pricey. Instead, take a sharp knife and cut the top off of your jug. This will make an easy scoop and bucket to hold all of the sand for your sand castles or shells from your beach adventures!
